HR seeks more men

THE HUMAN RESOURCE sector is looking to attract more men to the profession.

However, said immediate past president of the Human Resource Management Association of Barbados, Wendell Cumberbatch, more men are currently studying within the human resources stream.

Cumberbatch was speaking as HRMAB hosted a career showcase, for students, on Tuesday at the Grande Salle of the Central Bank.

Admitting that the association was lookingto attract more males, Cumberbatch said: “If you look at the ratio of females to males [who] are coming out of the masters programme, as well as the undergraduate programmes, it is still traditionally or predominately female, but yes now there are more males who are studying the HR stream and we are hoping to attract more males into the profession.” (HLE)
