A rat infestation in The City could hurt Barbados’ heritage reputation, an environmental health officer has warned.
Trevor Taylor said the rat population in Bridgetown could have negative implications on The City’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
He blamed the increasing rodent infestation on “neglectful” garbage disposal.
Speaking to the MIDWEEK NATION after a town hall meeting with residents of Wellington Street, Nelson Street, St Michael and surrounding areas on Monday night at the St Ambrose Cultural Centre, Taylor said he believed prosecution was the only way that City users would change their bad habits.
