Copper thieves hit retailer

An electrical supplies retailer demanded drastic action against copper thieves yesterday after discovering his business was robbed of $95 000 worth of copper cable.
Alan Simmons, the managing director of Simmons Electrical Co Ltd, said he was at his wits’ end to figure out what to do about thieves breaking into his property and stealing copper cables.
Simmons said the cables were taken off two reels which were enclosed in an area in front of his home at Windward, St Philip.
In a telephone interview, Simmons said he made the unsettling discovery yesterday.
