Ansa McAl axes heads

ANSA McAL’s top management in Trinidad and Tobago is dissatisfied with the performance of its Barbados companies and has brought down the axe on several of its senior managers.
President of ANSA McAL Barbados, Nicholas Mouttet, confirmed yesterday to the SATURDAY SUN that six of his senior managers from Consolidated Finance, Brydens Insurance and Standard Distributors had been severed.
The development comes as ANSA McAL Barbados seeks to consolidate the distribution companies in the conglomerate as it discusses with the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) a plan to cut 36 employees from A & R Tempro, Brydens and Stokes & Bynoe.
With more than $150 million invested in the Barbados companies over the past three years, Mouttet said the island was the worst performer of all ANSA McAL’s investments in the region, registering losses in some companies.
