The exciting St Andrew side were among the winners last Saturday in the latest round of the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic.
Coached by Brazil-trained Dexter Marshall and known for the distinctive samba style one-touch, St Andrew have been drawing crowds, and a large one was on hand at Belleplaine to see the home side spank St Michael South Central 3-0.
Jomo Harewood opened the scoring in the 49th minute, then a brace by Zeco Greaves in the 65th and 72nd minutes sealed the match.
To date, St Andrew have scored nine goals in three matches and have conceded only two.
At the same venue, St Michael North West defeated St Peter 3-0.
Meanwhile, at Blenheim, Henderson Richards scored just before half-time and Christopher Atherley added another in the second half to give St Michael West Central the 2-0 victory over St George North.
St Michael East and The City of Bridgetown played to a 1-1 draw. St Michael East’s Brian Neblett scored in the 28th minute to cancel the 14th-minute strike by The City’s Kerry Bryon.
Matches continue today at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Haynesville and Trents, St James, respectively. (SAT)
