One down, 2 to go

One problem solved, two more to go for the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
The trend of controversies and complaints for the BCA continued yesterday when it was announced that Christ Church Foundation will finally get the chance to play their first Intermediate cricket final against Rocklyn Hardware Isolation Cavaliers at the Foursquare Oval, from 1 p.m. tomorrow.
This follows a decision by the BCA’s Complaints and Disputes Committee to throw out a protest by Super Centre Spartan against the school side in their drawn semi-final at Dayrells Road, last month.
In a press release yesterday, the BCA stated that “the Complaints and Disputes Committee duly heard the protest and dismissed the claim made by Spartan”.
Spartan had complained that two of the Foundation players Aaron Jones and Carlos Maynard did not play the stipulated four matches to become eligible for the semi-final.
However, the BCA did not reveal the grounds in which the protest was dismissed, merely stating “the result of the semi-final game was therefore affirmed with Foundation winning on first innings.”
The final will continue on Sunday, then December 21 and 22. (EZS)
