IT IS HERITAGE MONTH and the Women Entrepreneurs of Barbados is celebrating by offering indigenous delicacies in The City.
The organisation has set up some of its members on the Chamberlain lift bridge selling items such as fish cakes, “comforts”, local wines and more.
Gloria Ruck of G’s Sweet Treats said the event would last until Saturday. When The NATION stopped today, only Ruck and Margaret Payne of Mars Catering Services were present, but Ruck said participation should improve over the course of the three days
As for business, Ruck said it was slow thus far but she was still thankful.
“It’s slow but you have to give God thanks as every little counts,” she said.
Payne said the initiative was a good one and she liked the location, but agreed things were slow. She said she would like to see the event repeated on a regular basis. (CA)
