THE BARBADOS SECONDARY TEACHERS’ Union (BSTU) is jumping for joy this evening.
A delegation, led by president Mary Redman, successfully negotiated for Deandra Howard, who was terminated from Combermere School last week, to be reinstated. She will be back in the classroom tomorrow.
Howard was relieved of her duties to accommodate Joyanne Catwell who recently returned to the school after completing a law degree. Both teachers are members of the BSTU.
Members of the union met with chief education officer Laurie King and other officials from the Ministry of Education for more than an hour. (YB)
