Crop Over goes into its final wind down this weekend and an approaching weather system is threatening two of the main events on the calendar.
The National Cultural Foundation (NCF) already had the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex as a contingency for all the events at Kensington Oval and officers are watching the weather closely as predictions are for the system to hit this afternoon.
Corporate communications specialist Simone Codrington told the DAILY NATION yesterday that a judgment about a change in venue for tonight’s MQI/Banks/LIME Pic-O-De-Crop Finals from The Oval to The Gym would be made this morning.
As for Foreday Morning, which follows immediately after the finals, Codrington said the traditional mud mas should not be affected unless there was a national shutdown.
It is left to be seen whether rain will dampen any of the jams on for tonight and tomorrow, but what is certain is that people will need more than a Bucket to ward off the showers this four-day weekend.
