LOCAL COMPANIES AND the Government have been told not to wait until there is a crisis to review security for their information and communications technology systems.
The advice came from presenters and resource people at a workshop on cyber security held at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies today.
The Caribbean Cyber Security Center’s Deon Olton said hacking was so widespread and intense now that business leaders needed to constantly reassess and upgrade their ICT systems to prevent breaches.
The workshop attracted a number of IT professionals and business owners. The Chief E-Government Development Officer in the Barbados Government, Ovvyng Harewood, also attended. (TY)
