MINISTER OF EDUCATION Ronald Jones has told schools not to go to the extreme in punishing students for what they wear.
He indicated that some schools were placing too much emphasis on wear and advised principals not to send students home for what could amount to small breaches of the dress code.
“The uniform you wear, how you are attired, how you carry yourself also are a reflection of what takes place within your school, but please, I’m begging, don’t put our children on the streets,” Jones told reporters after a presentation ceremony at the ministry yesterday.
“The streets of Barbados are becoming very dangerous.”
