A smother flow

CLEARING THE watercourse that flows under the East Coast Bridge is a job St Andrew residents Andrew and Sadrian Ward take on whenever there’s a problem.

Andrew, armed with his chainsaw, and his relative Sadrian, wielding a cutlass, were on the job yesterday, cutting up some uprooted trees which floated downstream and ended up choking the waterway.

The blockage sent water shooting over the bridge, creating problems for pedestrians and motorists as a weather system saw heavy amounts of rainfall in the area as well as islandwide.

“I don’t wait for people to call me,” Andrew told the DAILY NATION. “This is my job.”
