The arrest and charging of an Internet blogger with alleged “malicious communication” in relation to a Government minister, followed by a strong warning to social media users by cops, yesterday provoked a torrent of robust responses on Facebook.

Police public relations officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch disclosed yesterday afternoon that Omar Shawn Watson, 39, of Maxwell, Christ Church, had been charged with the “offence of malicious communication” and would appear in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court this morning.
