THE SOUNDS OF drums and the singing of enthusiastic parents marked another successful Barbados Boy Scouts parade through the City yesterday.
The 1 200-strong march started at Pelican Industrial Park continuing to Broad Street, Ricketts Street, on to Roebuck Street and Crumpton Street, and ending at Queen’s Park.
People lined the route, snapping pictures with cameras, tablets and mobile devices as the splendid sight of men, women and boys bedecked in uniform marched along, some carrying large flags while others played instruments.
Not to be outdone, the parents section behind sang lustily and proudly as they too marched along the route, albeit in a less orderly fashion. Even a few drizzles did nothing to dampen the mood.
As the sound of drums could be heard approaching Queen’s Park, those who chose not to make the trek were roused from their restful waiting on the walls along the park and quickly whipped out cameras in anticipation. (CA)
