DONNA ST HILL is back in Barbados.

The DAILY NATION has learnt that St Hill, who organised the controversial Nigerian student programme, arrived on Tuesday.

St Hill left the island for South Africa, where she resides, in January following weeks of controversy surrounding the 87 Nigerian students she brought to Barbados from Delta State.

The students were supposed to enrol in hospitality studies at the Barbados Community College.

Since her departure, problems have continued to plague the students and about six left for home.

It is also understood that two senior officials from Delta State are supposed to be in Barbados to sort out the affairs of the students, who have still not started school.

When the DAILY NATION contacted Dr Deryck Murray, head of the Commission for Pan-African Affairs, who was assigned by the Ministry of Education to oversee the Nigerians’ educational studies here, he said he was not aware that St Hill or Delta State officials were in Barbados.

However, he disclosed he was meeting with other interested parties to find a solution for the students and that was his primary focus.

The DAILY NATION emailed St Hill but has not received a response. (MB)
