PREMIER LEAGUE high-flyers Weymouth Wales and University of the West Indies (UWI) flexed their muscles on Sunday with some big wins at the Barbados Football Association’s Wildey AstroTurf to storm into the Round of 16 of the Banks Champions Cup knockout tournament.

UWI outplayed Springhead Farms/St Peter’s Bay Road View United 4-1, while Wales put on a soccer clinic against Division Two outfit Wotton on their way to a 5-0 win.

Another Premiership side, Silver Sands, had the toughest of encounters on the evening as they edged Empire 2-1.

Silver Sands gained a 2-0 lead with goals from Mario Kinch in the 45th minute and Jamal Pinder in the 69th but Wyatt Maynard drew one back for Empire in the 70th minute to make the remaining 20 minutes very interesting.
