THREE BANDS OF EAGER masqueraders enjoyed a morning of fun and partying as the second annual Christ Church Carnival took place yesterday.
It was marred by an afternoon shooting in which one of the members of the Christ Church East Trailblazers Band was injured as the group made its way along Lodge Road. That led to a premature end to the music from that band.
Rodney King, cultural officer of the National Cultural Foundation who lent logistical support to the carnival committee, said after the shooting there were concerns about retaliation so the music was cut off.
