Kenya steals the show

All who had ears to hear knew quite well that the second preliminary of the 39th season of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest belonged to Kenya Joseph.

In fact, the large crowd at Divi Southwinds Resort on Sunday night didn’t even have to wait for chief judge Sheldon Hope to announce her name – they were chanting it from the time he said her nearest rival Iesha Moses was second.

Her vocal strength, stage presence and ability to pick two songs perfect for her pushed her over the top.

Appearing in sixth position, Joseph rendered I Don’t Know and Miracle.
