LOOK OUT FOR Chinese jockeys at the Garrison Savannah next year.
The Barbados Turf Club (BTC) and the China Horse Club have signed a memorandum of understanding that will see top Chinese jockeys competing in Barbados in 2016, opening up racing and other business opportunities.
Details of the memorandum of understanding were announced during the recent China Equine Cultural Festival (CECF) in Wuhan in central China with an exchange of documents between the BTC’s Richard Seale and Chiang See Poh, adviser to the chairman of the China Horse Club.
“This is an exciting new development for Barbados as it will serve to link the Barbados tourism industry and offshore business with wealthy Chinese horse owners and entrepreneurs,” said BTC president Sir David Seale.
