BLAME THE HOME environment and genetics for cultivating the killers in our society. That, essentially, sums up what motivates a man to savagely beat, possibly rape, but definitely kill a woman, then dump her body in a well, canefield or some other difficult place for it to be easily found.
Psychologist Dr Mike Campbell explained that people who come from homes where they were severely abused, or who as children committed violent acts, or grew up in environments where abuse and violence was a significant factor, they would be considered most at risk of developing the callousness that characterises killers.
Likewise, some people’s genes predispose them to such violence, which may be triggered by the circumstances they find themselves in. In some cases this inherent neurological flaw manifests itself prior to any incident through serious mental illnesses such as psychoses.
