CARIFTA Swimming team announced

THE BARBADOS AMATEUR Swimming Association today announced a team for the 2016 CARIFTA Swimming Championships which will be held in Martinique from March 24 to 26.

An eight-member 12 and under synchronised swimming team has also been picked.

At last year’s championships, Barbados topped the medal standings with 30 gold, 12 silver and ten bronze medals.

Barbados have retained several of those swimmers from last year, although some have gone into a higher age group

Swimmers

11-12 Age Groups Girls: Aza Dunwoody, Ti-Juana Welch, Zahra Gaskin, Danielle Treasure Boys: McCallum Clarke, Tristan Pragnell, Roan Baker, Eric Lashley, Zachary Taylor

13-14 Age Groups Girls: Danielle Titus, Ashley Weekes, Destiny Harding, Zoe Taylor Boys: Nkosi Dunwoody

15-17 Age Groups Girls: Hannah Gill, Alexis Clarke Boys: Alex Sobers, Damon St Prix, Luis Sebastian Weekes, Jack Kirby

Open Water 14-17 Age Groups Girls: Alexis Clarke, Rebecca Lashley, McKayla Treasure Boys: Kobi Talma, Kent Mullins

Management: Head Coach Abdul Sharif, Coach & Open Water Antonio Martinez-Petrolanda, Team Manager Andrea Titus, Assistant Manager/Chaperone Samantha Clarke.

Synchronized Swimming

12 & Under Female Team: Savannah Berridge, Samaiyah Forde, Gracie Foster, Matilde Janoha, Sophia Simpson, Kenya Franklin, Nia Morris, Hailey Mahy.
