Cavalcade challenge

COME ON BOARD for this year’s Crop Over Cavalcades.

That’s the challenge from Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley to the private sector.

Speaking to the SUNDAY SUN recently, Lashley said this year there will be one mega Cavalcade this Crop Over, noting that these events, which are the lead-up to the Crop Over Festival were very expensive to stage.

“Cavalcades can be held but the private sector would have to come on board and private promoters. The National Cultural Foundation (NCF) can provide logistical and technical assistance but these are very expensive undertakings and it is not possible to do more than a mega Cavalcade from the NCF’s resources,” he said.
