SECONDARY SCHOOLS FOOTBALL has two new champions.

St Leonard’s Boys are the new kings of the Barbados Secondary Schools Football League Under-14 division, while The Lodge won the girls’ title.

St Leonard’s beat Harrison College 2-1 after the game went into extra time, while The Lodge triumphed over arch-rivals Lester Vaughan 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out in the finals at the Barbados Football Association’s AstroTurf facility at Wildey, St Michael, on Friday.

Skilful Raequan Jones booted home St Leonard’s two goals – one just five minutes into the game and the next three minutes into extra time – to snatch the title for the Richmond Gap, St Michael school. (SP)
