Policeman shot

A POLICEMAN WAS SHOT and is now being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police public relations officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch confirmed the shooting, but details are sketchy.

At this time, the seriousness of the injury is unknown, but the incident is reported to have taken place in Melrose, St Thomas.

The lawman is said to be from the Criminal Investigations Division and a number of colleagues are at the hospital. (BN)
