THE NATIONAL Primary Schools Athletics Championships (NAPSAC), the symbol of track and field supremacy at primary school level, is in danger of being absent from next year’s sporting calendar.
Just under 50 primary schools’ teachers and coaches were given such ill tidings in the Yuletide season when they met with past chairman of the NAPSAC committee Wayne Robinson at the Barbados Union of Teachers’ headquarters, Merry Hill, St Michael, yesterday.
Following the meeting, Robinson told NATION SPORTS that NAPSAC was cash-strapped and that unless two expected sources were realised they were in no position to stage NAPSAC for 2017.
“This was a meeting to review NAPSAC 2016 and to outline to the schools plans for the 2017 edition with regards to dates and sponsorship. However, we currently have no money to stage NAPSAC 2017. . . (KB)
