THE KING of swing is back on a high.

Darian King has equalled his career-best ranking once again, having moved up to world No. 130 when the new Emirates ATP rankings were released yesterday.

It represents a jump of ten places from last week and matches the career-high mark he previously reached on October 10 last year.

The move comes as a direct result of King’s historic showing at the Memphis Open, where the 24-year-old stunned world No. 31 Bernard Tomic in straight sets after qualifying for just his second ever ATP 250 event.

King became the first Bajan player to win an ATP tour match after also surpassing Martin Blackman (156), now general manager of player development at the United States Tennis Association, as the highest rated Barbadian ever last year. (JM)
