THEY ARE BATHING in rainwater, huddled in the dark and they want out.
This is the story of siblings, Sabrina, 33, and Shane Weekes, 29, who have been trapped on the Dutch side of St Maarten since September 6 when Hurricane Irma devastated the island.
The Category 5 system, packing winds of 185 miles per hour, left 60 per cent of the homes in ruins. Seven people were reported to have died on the French side of St Martin and four on the Dutch side.
Yesterday, the Weekes’ mother Vicki, who lives at Clapham Park, Christ Church, was at her wits’ end as she tried to secure the safe return of her two children. (HLE)
