A teenager accused of murder and the young man charged with supplying him with the gun were both remanded when they appeared in the District “A” Traffic Court on Friday, May 22.

Chad Keelay Darlington, a 19-year-old vendor of Block 13C, Bonnetts Housing Area, Brittons Hill, St Michael, was not required to plead to murdering 30-year-old Jamar Crichlow on May 17.

In the same court was Shakeem Kobi Shorey, 20, of 3rd Avenue, Licorish Village, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael. He was not required to plead to the charge that he supplied a firearm to Darlington on May 16 and that he did not have a licence from the Commissioner of Police to do so.

Crichlow, alias “Red Rat”, was shot multiple times while walking through a track in Odessa McClean Road, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael, during the night of May 17. The former 6th Avenue, The Ivy, St Michael resident underwent surgery before he succumbed to his injuries, bringing to 16 the number of murders for the year. (HLE)
