Barbados’ flash flood warning was this evening downgraded to a flash flood watch, which will be in effect until 8 p.m.
A flash flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area.
A trough system affecting Barbados generated rainfall accumulations in excess of three inches across some sections of the island during the afternoon. Although much of the heavier shower activity has already occurred, there is the possibility of some moderate showers tonight as instability persists. (PR/SAT)
