BNB ST CATHERINE sealed a berth in the semi-final with a nail-biting three -wicket win over Caribbean Lumber YMPC. They will oppose Sagicor UWI who defeated Guardian General Barbados Youth by 58 runs.
In their quarter-final yesterday, St Catherine, chasing 143 to win got home in the nick of time at 143 for seven with two balls to spare.
All- rounders Joel Leacock, with a run-a-ball 30 and Derick Bishop (24) shared a crucial fifth-wicket stand of 50 in 6.2 overs, after St Catherine were reduced to 44 for four in seven overs. Michael Holder assisted with a vital 22-ball knock of 19 and put on an invaluable 25 runs for the seventh-wicket with Ulric Batson. Off -spinner Jed Yearwood created the early pressure claiming three for 18 from four overs.
After they were invited to bat, YMPC were restricted to 142 for six from their allotted 20 overs. Matthew King struck a quick-fire 48 from 28 balls, with four fours and three massive sixes. He and Steven Blackett, who made 33, put on 56 for the second-wicket in 6.2 overs.
