G4S Security Services said it provided security plans to farmer Louis Archer but he did not accept them.Responding to an article in the June 23 edition of the Midweek Nation, in which Archer stated that he contacted the security firm for assistance after thieves were constantly stealing his produce but they came one day and drove away, G4S has denied this happened. In a Press statement, the company explained that a security advisor visited Archer at his farm at Gibbons Boggs, Christ Church, on April 17, and conducted a full security assessment of the location. The advisor offered Archer a security solution that was recommended for vast areas such as farms and remote areas.According to the statement: “A full proposal was presented to Mr Archer and he did indicate that he would be unable to install the infrastructure required for this security solution (since electricity is required to cover such locations). It added that the security advisor followed up with Archer on two subsequent occasions to provide further security options, which he did not accept.“At no time did G4S Security Services ‘visit and drive away’. We pride ourselves on working with our clients and prospective clients on finding the best solution for their security needs,” the company noted. (MB)
