READY OR NOT, Jesus is coming. And, He’s coming soon! You cannot cancel your appointment to meet Him, therefore it’s wise to be prepared.God does not send people to hell. People make that choice themselves.Messages such as these rang throughout the district of Valerie, Collymore Rock, St Michael, last Friday on Day 5 of the River Road New Testament Church of God’s Restored To Life And Power Crusade on Valerie Playing Field.Preacher Dr Wesley Rock captivated his audience with an end-time message, which resulted in many walking to the altar for prayer, deliverance and to give their lives over to God.A sweet spirit prevailed throughout the service and as the worship team ministered. Cymbals were taken out; hands were lifted in worship; feet danced on the concrete floor and nearby pasture; and the night wind whistled, lending music to the already favoured sounds of the keyboard, drums and other musical equipment. When the all-male Gospel Tuk (the church’s tuk band) did their march past, while drumming to the music of rhythmic gospel selections, it seemed that the praise and worship reached their height. The anointing was definitely “in the house”.As worshippers sat in neatly laid out chairs, Rock preached that with Christ’s imminent return, both Christians and the unsaved needed to be ready to meet their Maker. His message, he warned, should be heeded, as God whispered to him that very day, that He was ready to return to earth, whether or not man was ready to meet Him.“The first thing you think of when you hear the words “Prepare to meet God”, is that these words come across as a warning. However, people do not like warnings,” Rock stated. He added: “A warning becomes necessary when people are at risk.“ . . .Whether or not you take heed to the warning is your choice.“[What I can say is this:] Something strange is happening in our society today. God is issuing a warning, not to put fear in our hearts, but so we can be prepared to meet Him.”He said just as many people usually waited for a hurricane warning before purchasing the necessary supplies, many were of the belief that “they can wait until the final moment to accept Christ”.He said they were not planning for this great event, yet would plan for a trip a year in advance; or even prepare to jump for Crop-Over long before the Crop-Over season.“Preparation for Christ’s return is necessary. It is appointed to man once to die, but after that the judgment.“At the judgment every man must stand before God and give an account of himself.“Common sense tells me if I have to meet Him, then I have to prepare for my appointment,” he stressed.“Whether you prepare or not, the Lord is coming, but because he loves us so much and does not want any of us to perish, he warns us,” Rock reiterated.“People ask: ‘Would a loving God send people to hell’?” They ask: ‘If God is so good why would He allow people to got to hell?’ The reality is that God does not send people to hell. People send themselves to hell. God gives man a choice. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life,” Rock quoted from John 3: 16.He told his listeners: “When Noah was warning the people about the flood they did not believe.“Your decision to adhere to God’s warning will determine whether you are wise or foolish. God  does not command the impossible,” he contended.“God loves you even if you are still in your sins.  He loves you just as you are. Many hope that a hurricane or an earthquake would turn people to God, but the Bible says it is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. “God shows His goodness so we can repent and be prepared to meet Him,” stated the young preacher, who testified that God appeared to Him; miraculously healed him from epilepsy, and extended his life 35 years ago, after doctors had pronounced death on him.“I challenge you my brothers and sisters, even those who in the church, Jesus is coming soon. Will you be ready?“The assurance is He is coming. When are you going to be leaving? None of us can be sure, but you can be prepared,” he stressed.“If Jesus were to put in an appearance right now, where will you spend eternity?” he asked. The crusade is expected to continue this week.
