The best in the world have shown their interest, and Barbadian boxers will get a second chance to do so as well, when the AIBA’s Women’s Boxing World Champsionships continue at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex today, and make up for the disappointing one-round showing Thursday night by Jenny Benedict. The Narine sisters, Gheta and Molissa, are both set to hit the stage this afternoon in an effort to get a Barbadian past the first stage of the competition.
Fighting in the 64kg category, Molissa is slated to go toe to toe with Kazakhstan’s Saida Khassenova before Gheta battles Kum Ju Yun of the People’s Republic of Korea in their featherweight 57 kg clash. (BA)
