ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Two men, charged in connection with the murders of a young British honeymooning couple in 2008, have pleaded not guilty.
Kaniel Martin and Avie Howell are alleged to have shot and killed Ben and Catherine Mullany on July 27, 2008, the final day of their honeymoon in their seaside cottage at the Cocos Hotel on the island’s west coast
Catherine, a 31-year-old doctor, died instantly in what is believed to have been a botched robbery. Her husband, a trainee physiotherapist who was also 31, died in hospital in the United Kingdom after being flown home while in a coma.
The two men are also charged with killing Syrian national Tony Louisa, Jamaican Woneta Anderson-Walker, and college student Rafique Kareen Harris between June 19 and August 8, 2008. (CMC)
