FASHION AND BEAUTY – Let’s face it

People spend tons of money to achieve vibrant, glowing skin. But you don’t have to spend a fortune to get these looks. Rebekah D’Andrade, who is currently in training to be an aesthetician, tells women who want to start prepping in advance for a big event to “don’t try new products or skin tricks the night before or close to the time of the event – if you have a reaction it may take time to recover. Drink water and get your beauty sleep”.
Here are some tried and true tips that will release your inner glow, make others green with envy and have you loving the skin you’re in.
• Water, Water, Water! You cannot underscore the importance of water for your skin, both inside and out. Warm water on the skin has the power to hydrate, revitalize, detoxify and oxygenate the skin. But that’s not all warm water does. It gets rid of blackheads and makes large pores smaller.
• Don’t forget to use sunblock. The sun’s ultraviolet rays can wreak havoc on the skin making it prone to aging, acne, and skin cancer. Be sure to use one with an SPF of 15 or higher.
•What woman doesn’t boast the benefits of a good concealer? It not only hides unsightly dark marks and blemishes but it also helps even out the skin tone.
• Get eight hours of sleep. A good night’s sleep is one of the best treatments for your skin. Lack of sleep tells on the skin by increasing the effects of premature ageing, causing lines, wrinkles and dark circles or bags under the eyes.
•Toothpaste as a pimple zapper. Some people swear by it for getting rid of pimples that seem to come up overnight. Right before bedtime, simply dab a little toothpaste on the blemish, let it dry and keep it on overnight. A few nights of that and the pimple would be reduced to nothing.
•Load up on the citrus. Fruits can do wonders for the skin, especially oranges and tangerines that are bursting with vitamin C. They help to give you firmer skin and rebuild collagen, which may contribute to increasing the elasticity of your skin.
