Miss Galaxy pageant coming August 6
ARGUABLY one of the most controversial pageants in Barbados, the Miss Galaxy is back for 2011.
Producers say that this year’s pageant will come with the glitz and glamour associated with Las Vegas.
The delegates in the 2011 show will be in for a major journey as the overseas contestants will arrive in Barbados around mid-July and go through training and choreography sessions up until show date.
Scheduled events include an island safari tour, cocktail party, workshop, parties and much more.
This year contestants will represent Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt, Namibia, The Bahamas, Aruba, Alaska, South Africa and Guyana in the these segments: Introduction, HIV/AIDS Presentation, Swimwear, Haute Couture, National Costume, Evening Gown and Question and Answer.
There will be a new segment, which will spice up the competition and prove which contestant should really win the crown.
Promoters of the event promise that the show will top last year’s event.
Miss Galaxy World will be staged on Saturday, August 6, at 6 p.m. at the Plantation Garden Theatre. (PR)
