Cops look to role models

THE?ROYAL?Barbados Police Force is considering the use of role models to steer young people away from crime.
Concerned about the number of young people involved in criminal activity, Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin said yesterday they were considering having people, such as entertainer Edwin Yearwood, go into communities where they were raised to speak to the young people.
At a Press conference, Dottin said there were several young people under the age of 30 who were committing crimes.
Acknowledging the risk factors involved, he also expressed concern about the state of some of the communities. (MB)
