New principals come September

SEVERAL PRINCIPALS will be appointed by the start of the new school year next month.
Minister of Education Ronald Jones made the announcement while on a Cabinet tour of the new Maria Holder Nursery at Sharon Primary and the Gollop Blackman Primary School.
He said the posts of principal for Ellerslie, St Lucy and the Deighton Griffith schools and that of deputy principal at Princess Margaret, Coleridge and Parry and several others would be filled at the start of the term.
Jones made it clear he knew there were people acting in positions for quite a while, like that of Chief Education Officer, for which Laurie King has been responsible, but pointed out that it was left to the Public Service Commission to fill the posts. (CAT)
