Culture in Barbados will benefit from a cash injection of over $300 000 this year – part of it going to NIFCA.
That is because Barbados’ leading telecommunications network LIME is again backing the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) performing arts with an undisclosed amount.
LIME’s managing director Alex McDonald explained that the $300 000, some of which will be pumped into Crop Over and other cultural activities, has been money well spent.
He told a press briefing at LIME’s Windsor Lodge offices yesterday that the sponsorship had amounted to over $9 million in the last 30 years of supporting the NIFCA and numerous other events, and that his company’s commitment to culture had proved to be a profitable investment.
