WHAT CARIBBEAN FOOTBALL needs now is effective leadership to move forward, says Barbados Football Association (BFA) president Ronald Jones.
He told the SUNDAY SUN yesterday that this was the best way for the Caribbean to regain respect after the FIFA bribery scandal.
“It is sad for Caribbean football,” he said. “We now have to work through one of the most difficult circumstances. A lot of the leaders of Caribbean football, who have served football well over the years, have been suspended; so we actually have to go back to the drawing board to see how we can resurrect football and regain our integrity.”
Jones, who is also Minister of Education, was speaking after his endorsement of a children’s book launched by author Liesel Daisley in Pages Bookstore at Cave Shepherd on Broad Street, The City. (CA)
