Quiet Christmas for police

Police are today reporting a generally quiet bank holiday period.
Police Public Relations Officer Inspector David Welch said that apart from a drug find on Boxing Day, lawmen did not respond to any major incidents.
No arrests have been made in connection with the discovery of 477 pounds of cannabis found floating in 13 polyethylene bags, about 500 metres off the shoreline at Prospect, St. James on Monday morning.
Police believe the illegal drug came in on Christmas night.
Investigations are also still continuing into three gas station robberies that occurred last week, and the shooting of three people – one of them in a reported confrontation with police – on Christmas Eve. (DP)
