Bolt to end season tomorrow

Article by sherieholder

Jamaica’s global sprint king Usain Bolt will end his 2012 track and field season tomorrow at the Brussels Diamond League meeting in Belgium. Seventeen Jamaicans are down to compete at the meet, which is the final Diamond League meeting for the season. The world 100 and 200-metre record holder Bolt will contest the 100 metres. Bolt will face off with four other Jamaicans. They are Kenroy Anderson, 2012 200-metre Diamond League winner Nickel Ashmeade, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Nesta Carter. That race also includes American Ryan Bailey. Bolt’s Racers Track Club teammate Yohan Blake will also be in action in Belgium. The London Olympics double silver medallists Blake will face off with countrymen Warren Weir and Jason Young in the 200 metres. The women’s 200-metre dash features the Jamaican pair of Samantha Henry-Robinson and Anneisha Mclaughlin. 2012 Diamond League winner Kaliese Spencer, Melaine Walker and Ristananna Tracey will represent Jamaica in the women’s 400 metres hurdles. London Olympics bronze medal winner Hansle Parchment will contest the men’s 110-metre hurdles, while Kimberly Williams is down to take part in the women’s triple jump. Quarter-milers Allodin Fothergill and Rusheen McDonald are the other Jamaicans listed on the provisional entry lists.
