Students of the Ellerton Primary School will resume classes today without the presence of teacher Ashantio Sealy.
Sealy, who drowned last week, had been assigned to the Special Education Unit of the school since 2010.
Senior Teacher in the unit, Angela Gilkes, remembered him as someone who worked well with the younger children. She said that prior to his move to Ellerton and his work with the younger children, he was employed at the Ann Hill School, where the children were a bit older.
“He was very creative and found ways of getting things done with them. What he did is that he would go online and find out more about their conditions and their challenges and would develop ways of working with and helping each individual child,” Gilkes said. (LK)
