The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending today in Barbados.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is yet to name his Cabinet, although Parliament is expected to open next Wednesday with a formal procession of Members of Parliament.
While Stuart is expected to address the nation before the end of the week some Barbadians believe there is no rush for Stuart to speak on the issue.
Kizzie A Davis: “Give the man a chance because not one of you can do better. Grenada had their elections before us and the Prime Minister has not named his cabinet yet. Is this what to expect from you all for the next five years?”
Mohamed Adams: “He already named Attorney General Mr Brathwaite, give the man a little break.”
John Nicholls: “One way or the other the PM will have to make the decisions whether the recipients like them or not.”
Adrian Hinds: “Laws of Barbados doesn’t call for an official naming of the Cabinet before the opening of the Parliament. I am sure the various parliamentarians already know what has and has not be assigned to them.”
