THE TREATMENT of children in Barbados and its implications for their development are currently being analysed at a National Consultation sponsored by the Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) and UNICEF at the Hilton Hotel.
The two day event, billed as the BSS/UNICEF Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) which concludes tomorrow, got underway this morning with opening remarks by Senator Jepter Ince parliamentary secretary Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs and Steven Blackett Minister of Social Care delivering the main address.
Some of the children related issues being addressed include violence in disciplining children, breast feeding, obesity and child labour. (JS)
