Charge upgraded to murder

POLICE HAVE FORMALLY charged 38-year-old Julian Leroy Griffith of Colleton, St Peter, for the offence of murder in relation to the death of his brother Antonio Griffith.
He appeared at the Holetown/District E Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded until June 6, 2014. 
On April 12, 2014, the two brothers were involved in a dispute at the residence they shared with other family members. As a result, Antonio received a stab wound to his face and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he subsequently died on April 16.
Julian was initially arrested and charged for the offence of serious bodily harm in relation to the injury inflicted on Antonio Griffith on  April 12.
He appeared at the Holetown/District E Magistrates Court on April 14 and was remanded. (PR/NB)
