A pastor has made a passionate plea for a ceasefire in the island.
With gunplay almost a daily occurrence in some communities, and with “our men’s groups calling down fire on the women’s groups and the women’s groups, in return, calling down fire on the men’s groups”, Pastor Jacqueline Mayers says the island may be heading towards “something that is far worse than a natural disaster”.
The pastor was delivering the sermon at a service, at the Chapman Street Church of God, to mark the start of the hurricane season.
