Sam Lord’s project to begin next year
GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO build a $200 million dollar hotel on the 58-acre site of the derelict Sam Lord’s Castle. Construction is expected to start in “mid 2015″ and the project would take 30 months to be completed.
Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy announced plans for the restoration of the historic property and the construction of a 450-room resort in the House of Assembly earlier today.
He was introducing a resolution for the compulsory acquisition by the Crown of the land and buildings at Long Bay, St Philip “for the public purposes of housing and tourism development and beach access.” (GC)
