NUPW fed up
THE NATIONAL UNION of Public Workers says it’s so fed up with the length of time the Employment Rights Tribunal is taking to hear a wrongful dismissal case that it is considering giving it an ultimatum.
NUPW general secretary Dennis Clarke told reporters the case brought after nearly 200 workers were retrenched at the National Conservation Commission had been at a standstill for months.
Unless there was some progress soon, the union would have no alternative but to protest, Clarke said, but declined to elaborate.
Clarke said it was obvious the tribunal had started the case before it was ready to proceed.
He made the comments during a Press conference at the union’s Dalkeith Road, St Michael headquarters. (TY)
