A Dayrell’s Road organisation has come to the aid of the Brathwaite’s Gap fire victims.
The Unique High School Old Scholars Association yesterday presented $100 to the Edghill and Trotman families, as well as Cynthia Rogers, who lost homes in last Saturday’s fire disaster.
President of the 30-strong association, Manasseh King, and treasurer Maxine Devonish, made the presentations to a representative of the Edghill family, Don Carlos Foster.
Public relations officer of the three-year-old association, Emmanuel Joseph, also took the opportunity to present a $300 radio cassette recorder to the principal of the school, Miss Mignon Greenidge.
The recorder will be for educational use, particularly in the school’s language laboratory and by the dramatic group.
A spokesman for the association said it plans to get involved in other community projects in the near future.
